How Does BetterHelp Work?

How Does BetterHelp Work?

The first step is answering a short questionnaire so that you can be matched with the right counselor.  This is usually completed within 48 hours.  When you are matched, a counselor will contact you via email.

There are four ways you can communicate with your therapist:

  • Exchanging messages
  • Chatting live
  • Speaking over the phone
  • Video sessions

A combination of these methods can be used to suit your needs, availability, and convenience.  You can log in to your account and read your therapist's messages at any time.  You can also change counselors at any time for any reason.

BetterHelp also offers journaling and group therapy sessions.

How Much Does BetterHelp Cost?

The cost of therapy ranges from $60 to $90 per week.  This typically consists of one live scheduled 30-45 minute phone, video, or live-chat.

BetterHelp uses a monthly membership subscription and payments will be charged to a credit card or PayPal account.  You can cancel your membership at any time, for any reason.
